Iryna is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC #28365, BCACC) who supports children, teens, parents, couples, and individuals through the challenges of everyday life. Her approach is warm, systemic, and evidence-informed, and she works to create a calm, supportive space where every family member feels heard and respected. Background Iryna holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from an accredited university in Ukraine, formally recognized in Canada, and brings more than 15 years of clinical experience to her practice. She has been a member of the Ukrainian Union of Psychotherapists since 2009, completed a five-year training program in Systemic Family Therapy, and holds additional training in neuropsychology, child psychotherapy, and behavioural and developmental work with children. Since arriving in Canada from Ukraine after the start of the war, she has continued her professional development and practices under clinical supervision. She currently collaborates with the Maple Hope Foundation and has facilitated support groups for parents of children with autism. Working with children and adolescents Iryna works with children, teens, and their families across a wide range of needs, including autism (ASD), ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental differences affecting attention, sensory processing, learning, and social interaction. She also supports young people experiencing fears and phobias, separation and social anxiety, depression, difficulties with emotional regulation, and behavioral concerns. Drawing on play therapy, art therapy, cognitive-behavioral work, and neurodevelopmental practices, she helps children build emotional regulation, social and communication skills, and a stronger connection with their parents. Parent coaching and psychoeducation are an important part of this work, helping families create a calmer, more predictable home. Working with adults and couples For adults, Iryna offers individual counselling for anxiety and panic attacks, depression, the effects of trauma and post-traumatic stress, low self-esteem, and life transitions, including the challenges of immigration and adjusting to a new country. She supports women navigating abusive or codependent relationships, helping them rebuild boundaries, stability, and a sense of self-worth, and works with parents through the postpartum period, including postpartum depression and anxiety. With couples, she draws on the Gottman Method to strengthen communication, rebuild emotional closeness, and support the relationship as a whole. Her practice is integrative: rather than relying on a single method, she combines systemic family therapy, cognitive-behavioural work, Gestalt therapy, and other approaches, adapting to each person’s needs and pace.

A note about Iryna Outside her practice, Iryna is a mother of two daughters and, like many of her clients, came to Canada from Ukraine after the war began. She takes part in charitable initiatives supporting Ukrainian families. A devoted booklover, she also leads a women’s book club, practices yoga as a certified yoga teacher, and paints in watercolor. She believes that reaching out for support is an act of care, not a sign of weakness.
